Emma 10th March 2021

To us you will always be Uncle Barry. We would wait all year to visit you and Jane in the summertime. Turning up at your gate like we'd travelled across the seven seas to get there and unpacking a thousand suitcases even though we were only staying three days. You were the centre of every room and we couldn't wait to hear your stories and jokes. From meeting Paul McCartney to someone at the golf club throwing his car keys into one of the ponds, you could have told us a story about paint drying and we would have loved it all the same. We have never and don't think we will ever, meet anyone that can hold a room in the palm of their hand. A cigar in one hand, glass of rose in the other and their eyes closed. We'd be gripped on every word but then also trying to work out whether you'd fallen asleep or not. I'm so glad we got to meet most of your closest friends last year in the summertime because we know that your friends were family to you and to see that group out in force, eating amazing food and salsa dancing on the lawn was spectacular. We will miss you always Emma and James Emma and James
